RAeC Collection "Showcase" (7)
The seventh Showcase item is a list of pilots who were awarded an Aviators’ Certificate by the Royal Aero Club between 1910 and 1930. The first two Certificates were awarded on 8 March 1910 to J T C Moore-Brabazon (below, left) and the Hon. C S Rolls (below, right). The Showcase list is in alphabetical order, and can easily be browsed. The index cards and photograph albums of all these pilots are available through the website www.ancestry.co.uk. These records are free to search, but the actual records are only available by subscription. However, the full website is freely available at the Royal Air Force Museum, Hendon, and at many public libraries. The award of each Certificate is also recorded in the Minute Books of the RAeC, together with the pilot’s residential address at that time, through this RAeC Collection website.
